After a lull, Tollywood revs up again with big ticket flicks. This year Tollywood had received a beating at the BO as regular masala movies were thumbed down by audiences. Taking cue, Tollywood filmmakers have lined up a bunch of films of varied flavours to cater to the changing tastes of the audience. Starting off the summer bonanza is the fun-film Kick. Sold at hefty price, this Ravi Teja-Ileana film is a muchawaited one. Another much-awaited film, undoubtedly, is Ram Charan Tej and director Rajamouli’s untitled periodic epic. It’s a reincarnation story about lovers re-uniting after 400 years. “I play a valiant soldier in this touching love story,” says Ram Charan. He will be sharing screen space with his father Chiranjeevi, who does a cameo. “We had tears in our  eyes when we finished our last shot together. Dad was reluctant to walk out and just sat in a corner,” he told. However, he promises a roller-coaster ride for the audience this summer besides living up to the huge expectations of his fans.
Sushanth, Nagarjuna’s nephew, returns with a peppy romance Current. “My granddad ANR wanted me to do a loverboy role, so this was designed as a cute romance,” says the actor. The Susanth-Sneha Ullal starrer will be breezy entertainer with loads of fun. Another muchhyped film is Oye with Siddharth and Shamili in the lead. “It’s a classic love story,” reveals Siddharth. Another love-laced film to look out for is Evaraina Eppudaina which director Shankar says is a “nice blend of love and sentiment. If the film works out it will be a hattrick for Varun Sandesh of Happy Days fame.
Audiences looking out for a spooky experience can opt for the horror flick Diary, a sequel to Manthra. “It’s a gripping thriller with loads of scary moments,” says Shraddha Das, who plays the title role. One surprise inclusion in this star-studded fare is Aaa Okkadu, a psycho thriller, starring baddy-turnedhero Ajay and Madhurima. The star cast comes as a surprise, but producer Sudhakar says, “We are confident about our theme and even the casting was determined by the script.”  Other films to watch out for include Naa Style Veru starring Rajasekhar and Bhumika and Yaagam which features Navdeep and Bhumika and the muchhyped Kavya’s Diary with Charmme in the lead.
