'Maska' audio commercial sales from 27th Dec

Starring Ram, Hansika and Sheela 'Maska' in the direction of B. Gopal is shortly going to be released. Producer MS Raju is producing the movie on Sumanth Art Productions banner. The audio of the movie has got released today on 25th and will be available in the stands from 27th Dec.

On this occasion producer MS Raju said, “Except for a song, the shooting schedules are completed. The song will be filmed in a huge set constructed at RFC. The music album will be released today through Aditya Music and the albums will be available on stands from 27th December. Chakri has composed the best music in his career for 'Maska'.”

The makers of 'Maska' who are popular with their Sankranthi hits like 'Satruvu', 'Okkadu', 'Varsham', 'Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana' is preparing to release this film during Sankranthi in January.

Day after Christmas

, Pawan Kalyan will be halting all the movie shootings and activities related to his films. In the coming 5 months, he will not participate in any of the movie shooting including Puli, being directed by S.J.Surya, that has already finished 60 percent. The reason is simple. He has decided to make a whirlwind tour through entire Andhra Pradesh by holding meetings for his 'Yuvarajyam', a youth wing of Chiranjeevi floated political party Praja Rajyam. Pawan has taken the charge as president of Yuvarajyam and he is starting his canvassing from December 26.

Earlier Pawan Kalyan wanted to canvass for his party from Feb 2009 but things have changed now what with Prajarajyam party slowly losing initial euphoria. Pawan, who has great fan following among the youth, wants to sustain the interest towards the party

A day before the release of King, director Sreenu Vytla meets the journos and lets us know about his new romantic entertainer with Nagarjuna. Here are excerpts from his chitchat…

In one word what is King?

King is pucca mass entertainer - a blend of my style and Nagarjuna’s style. Paisa Vasool movie and will be liked by all sections of audiences.

Is it true that Nag is doing many roles in King?

Nagarjuna dons three roles in the movie that of Bottu Seenu (mass-type guy), Sarath (a software engineer) and King (a descent of erstwhile royal family). I am not telling that Nag plays three different roles or these three characters are different facets of the same guy. You have to watch it on the silver screen to find out.

How was it working with Nagarjuna?

He is my favourite actor. It was a great experience working with him as he has given me freedom to do what I wanted to. I would say he is only star who has given me free hand in all my 10 films so far.

Why did you include six more heroines in a song apart from two lead actresses? What is inspiration behind it?

The song comes in the crucial part of the movie and it is integral with the storyline. Although we got the inspiration from Om Shanti Om, it is not added just for the sake of glamour or an attraction

Tell us about Brahmanandam character?

I know everyone expects a great role for Brahmanandam in my films now what with he has done some superb roles in my earlier films – Dhee and Ready. Keeping these expectations, we have created a role for him that would bring down the house. His character name is Jayasurya and he composes songs.

What are your next films?

Will be doing Venky’s movie immediately and it would start in March. We are finishing up a great script for him. Then I have movie for Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya that will be produced again by D Siva Prasad Reddy. He is the one producer with whom I felt so comfortable.

To impress Sravani, Bottu Seenu gets introduced himself to her as a software engineer called Sharat. The rest of the movie unravels the mystery behind the killing of King, and the identity of Bottu Seenu. Analysis With three hit movies under his belt – Dhee, Dubai Seenu and Ready, director Sreenu Vytla has garnered the image of a good entertainer. He dishes out another masala entertainer this time with ‘Manmadhudu’ Nagarjuna. King is a pucca commercial formula movie designed to cater to the entertainment seeking audiences. It succeeds tickling your funny bone in most scenes. The first half is breezy and has funny moments with a spoof on music director Chakri (Brahmananadam’s character). The best part are some hilarious situations, romantic drama between Trisha and Nag, and Srihari’s characterization. But the director stretches the jokes too far in the second half and overshoots by almost 20 minutes. Too much twists and turns towards the climax have worked against the movie in the second half. It needs to be trimmed urgently. Performances Nagarjuna plays three different characters with élan. He looks very handsome compared to his recent films like Don and also the director has extensively used his ‘stylized’ gait to show the heroism. Nagarjuna is good in action and romantic episodes as ever. He should be commended for accepting to be beaten by comedian Brahmanandam in a scene. Trisha looks beautiful and chirpy. She walks through the role of an aspiring singer. Mamta Mohandass proves her mettle again in a character that has negative shades. She looks sexy too. Of the other cast, Srihari and Brahmanandam have more footage. Srihari portrays the role effectively. Brahmanandam as music director Jayasurya mimics real life composer Chakri and his comedy is hilarious. The so-called Om-Shanti-Om like song has little impact. Technically, Prasad Murella’s cinematography catches the eye. He provides rich visuals and makes Nag and Trisha look even more beautiful. Editing by M.R. Varma is sharp but he should have trimmed the movie for a faster narration. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is ordinary except for the title song and the romantic duet shot in Bangkok. Story by Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan provides enough platform for some funny moments but the twists and turns post the interval too hard to digest. It has shades of too many movies like Bollywood's Welcome and Race, and Chandramukhi, Chandra Lekha, etc. Director Sreenu Vytla shows his comedic touch again but expectations one has from his film aren't quite met in terms of content. He needs to do a check on the receptiveness of same jokes. Bottom-line King is masala entertainer with plenty of comedy in the first half. There are many loopholes in the script but the Nag’s style and Sreenu Vytla’s brand of comedy cover them. If you are looking just to pass some time, King is worth a dekko if you excuse the length and unnecessary twists and turns

Wild gossip about Tabu…

The actress was recently approached by director KS Ravikumar for the role in his new film with Sharat Kumar in the lead. He plays dual roles in the film. Shreya was brought in to play the role of his daughter.

The problem is- the “senior” Sharat Kumar has a heroine too. When the director began looking for an actress to play the role, he realized that it wasn’t going to be easy. He had first asked Sneha. She refused pointblank to play the role of Shreya’s mother. There were talks that he had asked Simran too, but we don’t know what happened to that.

Finally, they seem to be keen on bringing in Tabu for the role.

Rumors claim that they are ready to offer close to Rs 60 Lakhs for her to star in the role!

NAMITHA ON BED WITH RAJA

Namitha has a new movie coming up. Apparently it's folklore, a remake of old Narasimha Raju's movie with same title. The film called Jaganmohini has many twists and turns and there are many bold scenes for Namitha. Namitha has gone all out to perform this role as it gives her ample scope to emote. The film also is a bilingual and is being made both in Telugu and Tamil.

This film is a remake of the 70's super hit by the same name. It was Jayamalini who played the same character in the original. The story is saga of romance love and revenge.

Namitha has been made to act in steamy scenes in this film with the hero Raja. Namitha says the love making scenes are being picturised very esthetically and there is no vulgarity in them. All are waiting with open eyes to see these scenes with Namitha in the film.

Shriya Kicks Out Dhanush

The name Shriya does not need an introduction as it has become the name that many men utter in their dreams but then the name Dhanush might need some information, he is better known as the son in law of superstar Rajinikanth and is also called as the Bruce Lee of Tamilnadu for his lean structure and exceptional martial arts skills.

Apparently, Dhanush was to pair up with the sizzling Shriya for a Tamil film ''Thiruvalayaadal Arambham' and the film was to hit the floors sometime back. Producer Kathiresan had already given advance to Shriya but then the film did not hit the floors. When Shriya enquired, it was discovered that Dhanush is actually caught up with two of his assignments and it was made clear to her that the film cannot start unless he completes those.

The miffed beauty wanted to return her advance amount and Kathiresan did not accept it, now the bold girl that she is, Shriya has gone ahead and filed a complaint with the Nadigar Sangam and she has also returned the advance given to her. It now appears that Shriya is on her way to a new controversy and Tamil has not been working for these days, a word of suggestion – Shriya, why don't you have a look at the Telugu side for a change???

Radha's daughter opposite Naga Chaitanya?

Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya, whose maternal grandfather is D. Ramanaidu, was introduced to Nagarjuna's fans at the audio launch of Nagarjuna's King. His untitled film is being produced by Dil Raju and directed by debutante Vasu Varma. The music for this film is being composed by Sandeep Chowta. But it was on November 23 at this grand gala function that this scion of the Akkineni and Rama Naidu family was formally introduced. The unit finished the first shooting schedule in and around Hyderabad and is travelling to Agra for the second schedule. Though Shakthi Kapoor's daughter was approached first, she was not signed as the main heroine. Now yesteryear heroine Radha's daughter may be the lucky one to debut opposite Naga Chaitanya in his maiden film. Radha was a hotshot heroine in her hey days, acting with some of the top heroes including Krishna, Sobhan Babu, Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna.

The Cheran, Pasupathy and Nithin Sathya starrer 'Raman Thediya Seethai', is all set to be remade in Telugu. The Telugu version is titled 'Pelli Patrika' and Jagan, the director of the original will wield the megaphone for the Telugu version.

The female cast of the movie, including Karthika, Kajal Agarwal, Vimala Raman and Ramya Nambeesan.

'Raman Thediya Seethai', produced by Moserbaer went on to become a hit and acclaimed rave reviews. The plot narrated the journey of a young man and his search for a suitable bride. Nithin Sathya and Pasupathy will be a part of the Telugu version. Search is on for the lead cast.
