She’s the spicy girl who made her debut in Ram Gopal Varma’s James; then hit rock-bottom with Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag; and now she is returning in a new avatar with the same film-maker in Aagyaat. By virtue of the fact that Priyanka Kothari’s slate of films is almost clean (except for one other Kannada film); the Hindi film industry naturally assumes that she is RGV’s sole property; but the actress debunks the myth. “I’m open to working with other film-makers as well,” she says. She also refuses the rumour that when that teenage temptress Jiah Khan made her way into RGV’s factory, Priyanka was relegated to being a prop in the maverick film-maker’s scheme of things. “Oh, this is all idle talk,” purrs the Aagyaat girl, “I was always there, and I will always be there if there is a role for me in a RGV film. Other than that, I have no special equation with him.”She insists that film offers keep pouring in but there haven’t been too many scripts that she has found exciting and she’s positive life will change once Aagyaat is released because, “it’s the kind of role people will sit up and take notice.”
Till then the pretty lass is working on her body and her soul (she does a round of yoga every day) and also being patient about the elusive script that she believes will come soon. “Life is about belief,” she says. “I’m positive change is around the corner.”
