No time to chill
“After a couple of back-to-back films, I thought of taking a reasonable break but with this new film Anjaneyulu, I had to give up my holiday plans,” says actor Ravi Teja, who says that he’ll still manage to wring a couple of days for a ‘cool’ holiday.
Even Tamil star Surya sounds no different. “I’ll be shooting for a film. If I can squeeze out a couple of days, I would head straight to Goa,” he says.
Agreed that senior actors are compelled to stay back and wrap up their films, but what’s up with the younger stars? “My fans will abandon me, if I take a holiday now,” Ram Charan Tej jokes. “I am working on another film soon after the release of my periodic epic,” he explains.
On a more serious note, Ram of Ready fame, says that he has no holiday plans as he dislikes breaks in the midst of a film. “I prefer to do my films on a start-to-finish schedule,” he avers.
All work and no play, hasn’t dampened the spirits of chirpy Kajal Agarwal either. “I can always chill out later,” she chips in. However, she keeps her spirits high by taking a short one-two day break in between her film shoot. “That’s more than enough for me,” she giggles.
Family, fun, friends
Not all the stars are willing to let work take the upper hand — in fact it looks like a mix-n-match arrangement! Actor Sumanth has well-laid plans this summer. “I’ll be at an island in Malaysia to shoot for two songs and later, I’ll be going to the US for a friend’s marriage. It has been four years since I had been to the US, which is almost like a second home to me,” says the actor, who will also catch up a couple of IPL matches in South Africa.
Mamta Mohandas is already savouring her holiday in Bahrain. “I am having a gala time with my family, relatives and friends. Bahrain is a beautiful place and I am waiting for the F 1 finals shortly,” says the racing enthusiast.
Holiday? No way!
For every norm there is an exception. Charmme surprises us when she says she doesn’t look forward to holidays. “I don’t even remember when I took my last break. Cool, exotic locales don’t fascinate me at all. I prefer warm Hyderabad,” says the actress, whose favourite pastime is to watch movies at her cool home.
As the mercury soars, Tollywood’s shining stars show fun ways to beat the summer heat and make the most of life off-screen.
