Devi Sri finds good singer in Kamal

Music director Devisri Prasad is celebrating success these days. He has hit a double whammy with Jalsa in Telugu and Santosh Subramaniam, remake of Bommarillu in Tamil. Devi Sri has already won Megastar’s heart with his music. “Chiru Sir is very encouraging of my work and keenly keeps track of my music from other films too. When he saw my stage performance at the audio launch of Sankardada Zindabad, he said he felt jealous of my dancing prowess! The song in the film was his initiative. Imagine matching steps with Chirugaaru and Prabhudeva. It was a great moment,” grins Devi.

He has every reason to sport that grin, as his music will soon be heard in Vikram's Mallanna. But is there more to the air of happiness in his voice? “My smile is bigger because of Kamal sir,” reveals Devisri Prasad. “I’ve just completed the re-recording for Dasavathaaram. Kamal Sir said he is very happy with my work.” So did he make Kamal Haasan sing for him as well? “Yes and no. Yes, because Kamal Sir has rendered a small bit for the background music. No, because, I want to make him sing a full-blown number for me, which he has promised, he will. I’m waiting for the right song to come along.”
