NTR National Award for Waheeda Rehman

Veteran Hindi film actress Waheeda Rehman, is known for her timeless beauty as much as for her unparalled acting skills. The veteran actress who called it quits from the limelight was last seen in the Telugu flick Chukkallo Chandrudu. The Andhra Pradesh Government will be bestowing the NTR National Award for 2006 upon Waheeda Rehman and the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for veteran film maker D.Ramanaidu. Waheeda, a native of Hyderabad began her film career with the Telugu film Jaisimha but later shifted to the Hindi Film Industry. It was the legendary film maker Guru Dutt who spotted her talent and gave her the break. Guru Dutt’s onscreening pairing with Waheeda Rehman has give way to some of the most immortalized scenes of Indian Cinema.
