Namitha is worried these days. "Since I played a glamorous role in Billa, I was always in glam outfits or lounging on the beach. I received tremendous response for that role, so now all filmmakers want Namitha on the beach! In the past three months, I've been to every beach in Malaysia and Andaman and Nicobar islands shooting beach sequences. But what's really worrying me is that I've tanned so much — I don't remember what I looked like earlier because I'm perpetually in the sea," laughs Namitha.
When asked about Nayantara, Namitha sticks to, "no comments". But was she apprehensive of sharing screen space with Nayantara? "Not at all. Nobody can do what I can do; there's only one Namitha," is the candid reply. Any ambitions of heading to Bollywood? "Not at all. A couple of months ago, fans performed a paal abhisheka for a 60-ft cutout of mine for the success of Billa. I don't think even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gets such appreciation from her fans. I love the south and my fans here are my biggest support," she says.
