Megastar to appear in Ali‘s ‘Sombheri‘

Ali‘s latest starrer movie ‘Sombheri‘with tagline Sobhanaaniki Kuda Baddakasthude, in which Megastar Chiranjeevi is going to appear.

One of the song in it is to create awareness over the deadly disease AIDS in which Chiru will be seen in one shot and next followed by Mother Theresa.

This film is Produced by Y. Venkat Rao with debut direction by lyricist Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara Rao. There is news that the film is likely to set in theaters next week.

Chiru - mega move into politics

Mega Star Chiranjeevi getting into politics waves has already started. On Saturday evening in Hyderabad at Satya Sai Nigamam an important meeting would be held for which through out state youngsters boys and girls, this function would be attended by Chiru brother in law Allu Arvind, Mitra, Brahama Reddy along with all representatives of fans associations. Ravi Teja‘s next film Baladoor

Ravi Teja and Anushka once again paired in a new flick which is been directed by Uday Shankar of ‘Kalisundam Ra‘-fame and produced by D Suresh Babu on Suresh productions banner.

There is news that the film will be titled as ‘Baladoor‘( Veediki Badyatalu Ekkuva). It is not officially announced. KM Radhakrishnan has scored the music and the audio is expected to hit the market towards the end of June.

Krish is taking upto Rs.One Crore for next

Jagarlamudi Radhakrishna also called as Krish has an experience of directing just a movie which was super hit titled ‘Gamyam‘, with the outcome of this flick, producers are in queue for dates from Krish, according to film nagar sources, Aswini Dutt could get dates from Krish for which he is paying Rs. One Crore as his remuneration for directing flick with hero as Venkatesh which is titled as ‘ Krishna Mukunda Murari‘.

Krish would be directing Gamyam in Hindi for Darsari Narayana Rao after Venky‘s flick. Its heard that he would be charging more than One Crore for this Hindi version of Gamyam.

Vikram sings for Mallanna

Vikrams's action adventure Mallanna with Shriya, is going to have some foot-tapping music by Devi Sri Prasad. At the launch of the film a few months back, a special trailer was made for the occasion. In the trailer, one song was heard in the background - Excuse me Mr. Mallanna… which everyone thought was a peppy number. Now, Susi and music director Devi have reworked the song, and provided more dum to it. In the film, it is going to be a question and answer song between an angry Shriya and a cool Vikram, who are at loggerheads.

Devisri recorded the song with the voices of the hot and happening singer Suchitra and Vikram. After the song was recorded, everybody including producer Kalapuli Thanu now feels that this unique come-hither song has the potential to be a chartbuster. They are all insisting that Vikram's voice be retained and the song be picturised in a lavish manner by a Mumbai-based choreographer.

Neetu’s scary massage experiences

Recently Neetu Chandra was shooting for a hectic schedule in Bhopal . The unit members suggested that she should try de- stressing through a relaxation technique called Hamam which is a Turkish massage and bath famous in Bhopal. Neetu was very excited about this idea and went with her hairdresser to relax. On arrival she saw these huge strong massage women, who scared her.

She chickened out at the last minute and ran from there leaving her hairdresser at the mercy of the masseur for the famous experience. However she met her hairdresser after a couple of hours who admitted that she had a wonderful experience and quite enjoyed herself. We are sure Neetu’s loss was her hairdresser’s gain.

Sangeetha plays prostitute with ease

Comparing me with Kareena Kapoor is a compliment,” said Sangeetha reliving the moments of Dhanam, a Tamil film, in which she plays a prostitute, who is driven by circumstances into the world’s oldest profession. Sangeetha said that she did not do any homework. Keeping away from any self-inflicted pressure, Sangeetha owed it to the late cameraman-director Jeeva for instiling the clear vision of the character.

“We had a chat before the take-off where Jeeva suggested some subtle changes to my gait and he asked me to have an alluring look in my eyes. I even bit my lips as suggested by some of the unit members,” said Sangeetha in a lighter tone. For Sangeetha, every role is a challenge giving new dimension to her personality. “At the end of the day when you live with that role, perfection cannot be far behind,” reasons out Sangeetha.

100 security men to protect Mallika

The shooting of Mallika Sherawat starrar Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam, which was scheduled in Puducherry, came to a standstill when thousands flocked to the set to catch a glimpse of the Mallika Sherawat. Producer Ratan Jain had to hire about 100 security personnel to keep them away. Mr. Jain says, “The situation got out of control, and hence I had to immediately make arrangements to tackle the situation. Mallika is the lead actress of my film. Hence she is my responsibility.”

“I hired a local agency to protect her,” he added. Jain’s repeated pleas to the people to keep their distance was in vain. The crowd wouldn’t budge an inch. They refused to keep their hands off her. “This practically brought the shooting to a standstill. Fans kept crowding around her and refused to leave her alone. No matter what we did, they were determined,” a unit member revealed.

Nagarjuna once again to do comedy

Among all the top stars of the Telugu film industry, Nagarjuna earned the name of a romantic hero.

However, he played perfect comedy roles in several films like 'Allari Alludu, Hello Brother, Manmadhudu' and all of them were proved hits.

Bunny to do sequel to his Arya

Style star Allu Arjun has reached the hearts of Tollywood youth with Arya. Dil Raju made the film and directed by Sukumar. That film was a big hit at the box office in 2004.

Whenever I go to these places I make sure to pick up stuff that is particular to that place as the branded showrooms in every country too have a flavor of that place. I am not too fashion conscious. Normally I feel comfortable in ganjis but I always make sure that my jeans are well fitting. Mango is my favorite brand.

I like naval rings. I wear a gold waistband, silver naval rings, finger rings and anklets. My latest watch is from Bulgari. I love to wear belts as they add style to a simple pair of jeans. Recently on my trip to Malaysia and Amsterdam I got a whole lot of belts from Guess and Zara. I also pick some stuff from Aftershock in Mumbai.

Former Miss India Sayali Bhagat answers a dozen questions on her forthcoming Telugu film Blade Babji with poise and charm. Her excitement over her Tollywood venture is unmistakable "Being a total Mumbaiyya, I thought South Indian films wouldn't be my cup of tea. But after working here, I've changed my mind and I’m looking for a career in Tollywood." She continues enthusiastically about her debut Telugu film, "I loved it, my costar Allari Naresh is a brilliant actor and director Devi Prasad had is one of the best names to work with in the industry, it was a great experience working with both of them."

She says, "I freaked out on Hyderabadi biryani even though I generally watch what I eat. I also love the nightlife, and partying here is fun. I would be pretty excited if work keeps bringing me back." And she confesses something else that could bring her back to the city. Office getting ready for Chiranjeevi's party

The construction works for an office-building for the Chiranjeevi's upcoming political party are in brisk progress at Road No. 48, Jubilee Hills of Hyderabad, near Ambedkar Open University.

Former Union minister and director Dasari Narayana Rao's residence is also in the same road. It is reliably learnt that Chiranjeevi and his wife performed bhoomi puja for the building.

Presently, construction of foundation is in progress and it was planned to complete the building within three months. A temporary shed was built at the place.

Though Chiranjeevi is not opening his mouth about the setting up of a new party, his acts, the people who were meeting him and the people whom Chiranjeevi is meeting hints that he is preparing ground for the launch of a new political party. It is also learnt that he almost stopped acting in films.

Balaiah's special gift to JK Bharavi

It is a common phenomenon that big stars used to give special gifts to some key persons of the film unit whenever they bag a hit. Earlier, Nagarjuna gave a three-bed room deluxe flat to JK Bharavi as a special gift after the success of 'Sri Ramadasu'. Likewise, there was a gossip that Pawan Kalyan gifted away a costly diamond necklace to Parvati Melton after the success of 'Jalsaa'.

Sumanth's film with Ramana Gogula is 'Boni'

It is well aware that music director Ramana Gogula launched a production office with banner called 'Green Mangoes' and announced that he is planning a film with Sumanth as hero.

Raj Pippala is being introduced as director through the film. The movie is all set to go to sets in the third week of May. 'Boni' is the title under consideration for the movie.

Presently a search is on for a heroine. Director Raj is penning the story and screenplay for the movie, while the producer Ramana Gogula himself is scoring the music. With his recent film 'Pourudu' failed to reach expectations, Sumanth had kept high hopes on his forthcoming movie.

Bold and brazen Rakhi Sawant was in the city recently to complete her item number for the Nitin-starrer Drona speaks on her first Tollywood experience. “South Indian films are not new to me. I have done a Tamil movie Mumbai Express with Kamal Haasan and also a Kannada movie. This is my first brush with Tollywood and I am impressed with the professionalism here.

People here do what they say and they do not cheat people. Also, this is my second film with Kelly Dorjee and it was a beautiful experience. I am a regular to Hyderabad. The people here are very good and I simply love the food.” Said Rakhi. “ I'd love to do big banner films here and I still have to figure out what's a big banner or small banner in this part of the country,” she added.

Lawrence appeals for noble cause

Dance master-turned-actor Lawrence Raghavendra has appealed to the public and doctors to help save 36 poor children with health problems. At a hurriedly called press conference last week, Lawrenceclaimed that surgeries had to be conducted at the earliest, if the children were to be saved. Lawrence said the parents of the children with the problems had approached him for help and he in turn was placing their request for help before the public.

Lawrence, who runs a trust, which takes care of 40 people, said he initially started the place with the intention of teaching dance to those who were interested in learning but who couldn't afford to pay for the classes. However, now, the institution has turned into a trust that takes care of the needs of the poor and the needy.

Dervisri Prasad is a good friend

Mamtha Mohandas was an instant hit as a singer and became a household name even before the release of her debut film Yama Donga. After Yamadonga, she never looked back. She is busy with plenty of offers now. “ I am trained in classical music. I have always had the habit of humming snatches of some song or the other. Devi Sri Prasad heard me one day and asked me whether I would be interested in singing. That’s how the title song of Rakhee happened. After that, I sang for Jagadam, Shankar Dada Yama Donga,”said Mamatha Mohandass.

Is it true that Devi Sri Prasad has a soft corner for you and he promotes you ever so often? “Yes, I too have heard these rumors. People started spreading rumors when my first song composed by Devi was a big hit. It is fun working with him. We share a professional relationship and nothing beyond that. Right now, I am concentrating on my work and have no time or inclination for anything else. The song would have been a hit even if some other singer sang it. I am the topic of gossip only because I happen to be an actress,” she said.

Prabhas has lot of hopes on Bujjigadu

Bujjigadu movie is set to release on 16th May. High expectations are there on this movie because of the combination of director Puri Jagannadh and hero Prabhas. Already Puri Jagannadh gave hat trick hits like ‘Pokiri, Desamuduru and Chirutha‘ and is getting ready to continue his winning streak with ‘Bujjigadu‘, and being produced by KS Rama Rao on the banner of Creative Commercials.

Prabhas has lot of hopes on Bujjigadu. Prabhas‘s last couple films like Yogi, Munna and Pournami were big disappointments at the box office.Now he needs a hit film like his Chatrapathi. Prabhas is very much confident that Poori can deliver that required hit for him. Still Prabhas wants hear the word "Hit" from the public, then only he can take long breath.

Chanthakayala Ravi faces Visa troubles

Nallamalipu Bujji who produced Lakshmi with Venaktesh is making the film Chinthakayala Ravi with hero Venkatesh.

The film has the tag line – a software engineer. As for the script, the film has to shoot in USA for 40 days.

But Asha Shainy’s Visa scam made much trouble to Tollywood. US consulate is filtering to issue Visa to Tollywood people.

As US embassy asked the film producer to take the responsibility of entire unit by single person, hero Venakatesh took personal responsibility on behalf of the entire unit given a written letter to embassy.

Then US Consulate issued the Visa to the unit members of Chinthakayala Ravi.

NTR gets political invitation

Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu yesterday welcomed, Jr NTR, to join politics. “You are a member of NTR’s family. Whenever I see you, I am reminded of my father-in-law the late N.T. Rama Rao. You have a bright future,” Mr Naidu told Jr NTR.

The Telugu Desam supremo, who is currently on a 150-day state tour as part of his Mee Kosam rath yatra, said all members of the NTR family were working to ensure that the party returns to power in the May 2009 elections. A private television channel arranged for a telephonic conversation between Jr NTR and Mr Naidu. Jr NTR addressed Mr Naidu as mamayya. This is the first time that Mr Naidu and Jr NTR have spoken to each other in public

Remember Devayani who paired opposite Pawan Kalyan in Suswagatham. She took a break from her work after giving birth to her second daughter. A proud mother of two daughters, she gushes about how excited she is with the new arrival in her family. "I am currently basking in the happiness of taking care of my two children.

Ramcharan wish to work with Karunakaran

Director Karunakaran’s Ullasangaa Ustahangaa music was released on 7th May evening at hotel Marriot, Hyderabad. D Ramanaidu, MS Raju, Ramcharan, Ram and Sravanthi Ravi Kishore attended the function.

GV Prakash- nephew of AR Raheman is composing the music. Yasho Sagar is making debut as hero. Sneha Ullal is the heroine.

Dr Ramanaidu launched the Audio CD and handed over the unit to Ramcharan and MS Raju released the audio cassette and handed over to Ram. Udhayabhanu anchored the event.

Ramcharan who spoke on the occasion- ‘Yasho Sagar (hero of the film) is looking stunning in the posters. I made my debut last year with Chirutha and I know how it feels like before your first film release. I had been listening to the songs of the film. GV Prakash has given excellent music. From being a prodigious child artiste not so long ago, Hansika has already acted in three films - Desamuduru (Telugu), Aap Ka Suroor (Hindi) and Bindaas (Kannada) all that at just sixteen years of age. Having made a great impression already with Desamuduru, Hansika is hopeful of making it two in a row with Kantri.

"I have great expectations from the film. It is an action-packed love story that has been shot in some of the most pristine locations in South Africa. I am sure the film will strike the right chord with the audience," says Hansika. When asked about her experience of working with NTR, the actress is all praise for her co-star. "He is such a powerhouse of an actor, a thorough professional and a gentleman. It was a pleasure to work with him. He‘s done a fabulous job in the film," she shares.
For now though Hansika is tied up with the shooting of Money Hai To Honey Hai in which she is plays the lead opposite Govinda. However, all the travelling does not seem to bother her and she even manages to pack college into her busy schedule. "When I am not tied up with work I love nothing more than going to college and catching up with friends. I have a normal life otherwise, but I love the show business. I love to entertain people, and am enjoying every moment of it," she declares.Given a choice what would she prefer to do, Hindi films or regional films? "As an actress all I am concerned about is the script and my role, and it really does not matter which language the film is made in because a good film will always be a good film no matter what language it is made in. But Tollywood will always be close to my heart as I made my debut here and would love to come back to work here again," she signs off.

NTR gets political invitation

Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu yesterday welcomed, Jr NTR, to join politics. “You are a member of NTR’s family. Whenever I see you, I am reminded of my father-in-law the late N.T. Rama Rao. You have a bright future,” Mr Naidu told Jr NTR.

The Telugu Desam supremo, who is currently on a 150-day state tour as part of his Mee Kosam rath yatra, said all members of the NTR family were working to ensure that the party returns to power in the May 2009 elections. A private television channel arranged for a telephonic conversation between Jr NTR and Mr Naidu. Jr NTR addressed Mr Naidu as mamayya. This is the first time that Mr Naidu and Jr NTR have spoken to each other in public

Prakash Raj makes Brahmanandam happy

Brahmanandam made audiences in Tamil Nadu roll with laughter in the hit Mozhi. The comedian has admitted that it was because of Prakash Raj's persistence that he agreed to play that role. He said that he had been rejecting a lot of Tamil films because he wasn't very proficient in Tamil. However, it was because of actor-cum-producer Prakash Raj's efforts that he agreed to play the role in the film. " I rejected a lot of Tamil movies because of two reasons.

The first reason was that I was busy in the Telugu industry and the second was that my knowledge of Tamil was not all that good. However, Prakash Raj made me do the role," he said. Brahmanandam said that the character was one of the best he had ever played and thanked Director Radha Mohan and Producer Prakash Raj for it.

Trisha welcomes healthy competition

Trisha is still the reigning queen of south Indian cinema, as she is the only actress who is balancing her career in both Telugu and Tamil successfully right from the beginning. Her last release Krishna in Telugu was a super hit and this week she had all the reasons to smile as she celebrated her birthday on May 4 with the release of Kuruvi. She has withstood pressures and competition and emerged on top due to her hard work and commitment.

The lass celebrated her birthday in Christchurch in New Zealand, where she was shooting a song with Prabhas for her forthcoming Puri Jagannath summer special Bujjigadu, Made in Chennai. You ask her about competition and Trisha is quick to reply, "Like in any other field, there is competition in tinsel world too, just that it's a little more publicized here due to the glamour attached to it. I think healthy competition is good as it keeps you always on your toes."

Kareena says no to Pawan Kalyan

Kareena Kapoor has slammed rumors of her acting in a Telugu movie. Tollywood was abuzz with the rumor that the Kareena was being roped in by S J Suryah’s Puli opposite Pawan Kalyan. Since my mother has been around me, things have been fine. I am also a no-nonsense person. I have achieved a lot for someone of my age,” said Ileana.

Is Hyderabad a second home for you now? “Very much. I love the city and miss it when I am not there. During my stay, I am comfortable. I have bought property there as well. I understand Telugu but don't try to speak it, as I feel I may be made fun of. I prefer to be fluent with the language in order to speak it,” said Ileana.

No hungama in Nag‘s new film launch

Chiranjeevi‘s Response against ‘Parugu‘

Allu Arjun‘s film Parugu finally hit the screens on May 1. The film opened to some mixed talk. The film is produced by Dil Raju and directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Sheela is the heroine and Mani Sarma is the music director.The film is about the relationship between a father and his daughters.

Chiranjeevi watched a special premiere show of the film the other day. It is said that Chiranjeevi has connected himself with the film. The film shows how much a father is pained when his much loved daughter runs away from home.

The story has some similarities to Chiranjeevi‘ daughter Srija‘s incident. Like Srija, the eldest daughter of Prakash Raj also runs away from home with her lover. She and her lover run from one place to another in a bid to escape from the reach of her father.Even the heroine Sheela gets ready to run away from home with the hero.

However the people‘s reaction to the story in the film is very mixed.

Sanjana is hot in Bujjigadu

Sanjana, who is playing second heroine in Bujjigadu Made in Chennai, is eagerly awaiting the audience‘s response for her performance in the film, which is set for release in the third week of May.

The girl, who is known to the Telugu audience for her sizzling performance in Mogudu Pellam O Boyfriend is said to have done a lot of skin show in Bujjigadu.

The director, Puri Jagannath, seems to have sidelined Sanjana completely. Or is it a deliberate act by Puri, who has reserved her performance for the audience for only on-screen. With the heat on, Sanjana‘s performance may ensure the mercury to go up a little further!
